<image:caption>An allergic reaction in dogs occurs when their immune system overreacts to foreign substances (allergens) such as pollen, grass, dust mites, mold, and even certain foods. Summer is a peak time for many of these allergens, hence an increase in allergy-related issues. Common symptoms of allergies in dogs include itching, redness, skin infections, ear infections, and gastrointestinal problems like vomiting and diarrhea.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Understanding and Managing Seasonal Allergies in Dogs - Breed-specific Allergy Susceptibilities</image:title>
<image:caption>While any dog can develop allergies, certain breeds are predisposed to these conditions due to their genetic makeup. Breeds commonly susceptible to allergies include Boxers, Bulldogs (English and French), Retrievers (Golden and Labrador), Beagles, Dalmatians, Irish Setters, and Wheaton Terriers. Bulldogs, for instance, are notorious for their skin issues, often exacerbated by allergies to grass, pollen, and certain foods. Retrievers, both Golden and Labrador, are susceptible to atopic dermatitis, a skin condition caused by allergies to airborne substances like pollen or dust mites. That said, it's essential to remember that allergies can occur in any breed, and the severity and type of allergies can vary greatly, even within the same breed.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Understanding and Managing Seasonal Allergies in Dogs - Managing Your Dog's Allergies</image:title>
<image:caption>When it comes to managing allergies in dogs, a three-pronged approach is often the most effective: prevention, treatment, and strengthening your dog's overall health. Prevention - Identifying and avoiding allergens is the first line of defense. For instance, if your dog is allergic to a certain type of grass, try to avoid those areas during walks. Regular bathing with a hypoallergenic shampoo can help remove allergens from your dog's skin and coat. Treatment - This typically involves relieving symptoms and may include medications like antihistamines, corticosteroids, or topical creams for skin issues. Some dogs may benefit from immunotherapy, which involves exposing the dog to small amounts of the allergen over time to build immunity. However, all treatments should be discussed with and prescribed by a veterinarian to ensure safety and effectiveness. Strengthening Overall Health - A healthy dog is better equipped to combat allergies. Good nutrition, regular exercise, and routine veterinary care are critical in maintaining your dog's overall health. Certain supplements, like Omega-3 fatty acids, have been shown to help reduce inflammatory responses associated with allergies.</image:caption>

Ensure your dog has proper footing and clean their paws thoroughly after visiting the park to prevent tracking dirt and bacteria into your home. Be cautious of seasonal allergies: Dogs can suffer from seasonal allergies, too. If your dog exhibits symptoms like excessive itching, sneezing, or watery eyes, consult your veterinarian for advice on managing allergies. <image:caption>Summer offers long, sunny days perfect for dog park adventures, but be cautious of the heat: Avoid the hottest part of the day: Plan your visits for early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Provide ample water and shade: Ensure your dog has access to fresh water and shade to prevent overheating and dehydration. Watch for hot surfaces: Asphalt, concrete, and other surfaces can become scorching in the sun, potentially causing burns on your dog's paw pads. Test surfaces with the back of your hand, and if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog. Attend summer events: Many dog parks and local communities host summer-themed events such as doggie pool parties, outdoor movie nights, or dog-friendly concerts. Participate in these events to make the most of the season.</image:caption>

<image:caption>It’s not known when and where the actual first dog park was created, the idea of a dedicated space for dogs to play and socialize can be traced back to 19th-century Europe. The concept of public parks was gaining popularity, and with them came the idea of creating spaces for dogs to exercise and interact with other dogs. The first official dog park was reportedly established in Germany in 1863, known as the "Hundeplatz."</image:caption>

<image:caption>The data collected from health and activity monitoring technology in dog parks can be analyzed to identify trends and patterns in dog behavior, health, and wellness. This information can be used by veterinarians, pet owners, and even city planners to make better-informed decisions about the design and management of dog parks. For example, park managers could use this data to adjust the park's layout to better accommodate the needs of dogs, such as providing more shaded areas for dogs to cool off during hot weather. The future of dog parks looks bright, with health and activity monitoring technology poised to play a significant role in improving the overall health and well-being of dogs. As this technology continues to evolve and become more sophisticated, we can expect to see more innovative solutions that help keep our furry friends healthy and happy while enjoying their time at the park.</image:caption>

<image:caption>With the advent of new technology, the future of dog parks is poised to be even better, with health and activity monitoring playing a significant role in this evolution. In the future, dog parks (like Wünderhund) will feature a wealth of advanced health and activity monitoring technology, such as sensors and cameras that can track a dog's movements and provide real-time feedback on their physical health. For example, sensors can monitor a dog's gait and identify any abnormalities that could indicate an injury or illness. Cameras that leverage computer vision can detect signs of distress in dogs, such as anxiety or aggression, and alert the owner to intervene and prevent potential incidents.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Tails of the Park: The History and Future of Dog Parks - The dog park comes to America</image:title>
<image:caption>The idea of a dedicated dog park soon spread to other countries, and in the United States, the first dog park was established in 1979 in Berkeley, California. The park was called the Ohlone Dog Park and was designed to provide a safe space for dogs to play off-leash. The park was a great success and quickly became a model for other dog parks across the country.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How the pandemic affected startups - Reduced demand for products and services</image:title>
<image:caption>The pandemic has also led to reduced demand for many products and services, particularly in industries that have been hit hardest by the pandemic, such as travel and hospitality. This has had a negative impact on startups operating in these industries, as well as those that rely on these industries as customers.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How the pandemic affected startups - Uncertainty and volatility</image:title>
<image:caption>Perhaps the biggest impact of the pandemic on startups, and certainly our biggest with Wünderhund, has been the overall uncertainty and volatility of the business environment. The pandemic has created unprecedented levels of uncertainty, making it difficult for startups to plan for the future and make long-term investments. This has made it challenging for startups to maintain growth and navigate through the crisis. At Wünderhund, we shifted our focus from creating Wünderhund Parks to developing Wünderhund Collar and its underlying health and wellness technologies, which requires less capital and is more tolerant of volatility. Once the environment stabilizes, we will shift back to creating Wünderhund Parks. The silver lining is that we will have a more developed health and wellness experience from day one at Wünderhund. In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on startups, negatively impacting their ability to grow. Reduced access to capital, disruption of supply chains, reduced demand for products and services, shift to remote work, and uncertainty and volatility have all presented significant challenges for startups during this time. However, with resilience, creativity, and adaptability, many startups have managed to weather the storm and emerge stronger on the other side.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How the pandemic affected startups - Reduced access to capital</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the biggest challenges faced by startups (including Wünderhund) during the pandemic has been reduced access to capital. As the economy took a hit, investors became more cautious and risk-averse, and many startups found it difficult to secure funding. According to a survey conducted by the National Venture Capital Association, the number of venture capital deals declined by 16% in the first half of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How the pandemic affected startups - Shift to remote work</image:title>
<image:caption>The pandemic has also led to a massive shift to remote work, which has presented challenges for startups that rely heavily on collaboration and in-person interactions. Many startups have had to adjust to remote work and find new ways to collaborate with team members and communicate with customers.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - How the pandemic affected startups - Disruption of supply chains</image:title>
<image:caption>Another major impact of COVID-19 on startups has been the disruption of supply chains. Many startups rely on global supply chains to source raw materials and components for their products. The pandemic caused significant disruptions in global supply chains, making it difficult for startups to access the resources they need to manufacture and distribute their products.</image:caption>
